This program was made possible in part by a grant from the National Park Foundation.

The National Park Foundation created the Open Outdoors for Kids grant to build on a child’s innate wonder and curiosity about the natural world. Open OutDoors for Kids connects students to their national parks through field trips, classroom engagements, and educational activities.

CNMF is honored to be awarded this grant in order to provide over 5,000 San Diego County students the opportunity to visit and learn about Cabrillo National Monument.

SNAKE AMBASSADORS

The Park’s animal ambassadors do more than quell people’s fear of snakes! They provide a unique opportunity to teach visitors about some of our native snake species at the park, while also explaining the important role snakes play in the environment. CNMF helps the Park maintain this visitor favorite, by allowing our snake friends to be fed and cozy in their enclosures.
