What We Fund

Thanks to YOU – our members, donors, and community partners – the Foundation is able to fund programs that are critical to protect and preserve Cabrillo National Monument’s cultural, historical, and natural resources for future generations to enjoy. If you are passionate about the Park and want to help us on this mission, Join Us or Give today.

We fund:

  • Additional Park Support & Supplies

  • Volunteers-in-Parks Program

    • The Volunteer-In-Parks program (VIP) provides fundamental support for park operations every day. Volunteers allow us to move forward with achieving the NPS mission expanding services to visitors and protection for park resources that would be impossible with the small staff of two field rangers.
    • Cabrillo National Monument Foundation funding supports the efforts of 300+ active and dedicated volunteers who collectively work more than 17,000 hours annually. Volunteers assist with natural, cultural and historical aspects of interpretation, visitor services, and conservation. Foundation funding is used for uniforms, training, recognition items, tools and specialty equipment. The park receives a modest amount of federal funds for the volunteer program but these funds are limited and restricted, so funding from the Foundation is crucial and appreciated.

Yes, this much happens at Cabrillo National Monument and actually so much more!

This is why we need your help. In order for the Foundation and the Park to continue making an impact on the visitors, the San Diego community, and our youth, we need your support. Our taxes and your entrance fees just cannot cover all the essential Park needs, so the Foundation makes it happen… with generous contributions from park lovers like you.
