EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, CABRILLO NATIONAL MONUMENT FOUNDATION

 

The Position

The Cabrillo National Monument Foundation (CNMF) seeks a qualified individual for the position of Executive Director.  The duties of the position include: managing a federally-recognized Cooperating Association in accordance with National Park Service directives and in coordination with on-site NPS management;  overseeing an existing park-supporting organization with an annual gross revenue in excess of $700,000; conducting membership and fundraising activities; and managing an onsite visitor store, including supervision of full- and part-time store staff.  The position reports to the CNMF Board of Trustees and provides guidance and support to the Board in carrying out the mission and objectives of the Foundation.

Over the past decade, the CNMF has sought to evolve from primarily operating the bookstore to becoming a more broadly-based philanthropy through conducting special events, expanding membership, seeking grants, and pursuing donor opportunities.  The selected candidate will be tasked to further this evolution with enthusiasm and leadership.  Initiative in achieving funding and operating objectives will provide the selected individual an opportunity to grow this job over time, and the Board is prepared to consider salary and bonus compensation commensurate with fundraising success.

Salary, Leave, Benefits and Workplace

Starting Salary:  $50,000-$60,000 DOQ
Health Care:     Employer-paid, Kaiser Permanente
Retirement:      403(b) Program
Work Hours:     Normal business hours with some evening and weekend hours for meetings and events
Work Location:  The offices of the CNMF are on the Cabrillo National Monument site
